Hi everybody,
My name is Julia! I came to the Leiden Ballet & Theater School as a 7-year-old girl and enjoyed my preparatory training here until I was 19. Around the age of 14 I found out that I started to enjoy singing lessons more and more, and soon I started singing everywhere and always. I developed a great love for pop and soul music and after obtaining my HAVO diploma I was accepted at the Conservatory of Haarlem, from which I graduated in the summer of 2020.
Besides being a singer, I am also a songwriter. I am currently writing and recording my first EP as an artist, but I also write for several producers, including drum’n bass artist MADUK. Two of these songs have been released and can be listened to on Spotify.
In addition, I have sung backing vocals with Ivan Perotti, Shirma Rouse, TRAUDES & Chris Alain and I have done studio work with the label of Martin Garrix. In the weekends, I also perform with the cover band Step the Gap and with my own project.
I started teaching in 2016 and I enjoy it very much. I think it is very important that people feel comfortable while singing and that they dare to enjoy it to the fullest. In my lessons I like to pay attention to conveying emotion while singing and experiencing a song.
